A LIFELONG PASSION
Founded in 2006, The Farm Down Under (TFDU) is the realization of the hard work and the passion of the Lavery Family. Coming from Cleveland, Ohio their farm gives everyone a place to escape all year round. Especially in the winter, this quiet location filled with fruit trees and wildlife, is a place to enjoy their love of competitive show horses.
Discovering The Farm Down Under
According to Mrs. Lavery; “We were in Florida for a horse show, when our trainer needed to be picked up. The farm was set back from the road between two adjacent farms, it was private and quiet. Apart from facilities for the horses, there were a lot of established fruit trees – avocados, bananas, star fruit, pineapple and a huge mango tree. As it happened the farm was for sale. We were interested and it went from there.”
Many years later, the Lavery Family still enjoys the work and time spent improving the property and making new memories.
The Farm’s name pays homage to the secluded location, but most importantly, to Mr. Lavery’s homeland. The Farm Down Under’s colors mirror Australia’s national colors – “gum tree green” and “wattle gold” with black.
